Bree is a practicing neonatologist at the University of Chicago with a special interest in Neonatal Follow-Up after discharge. She is especially dedicated to finding resources for families coping with complex medical conditions and providing optimal developmental supports for children with special health care needs. She and her husband, Dr. Patrick Myers, live in Hyde Park.
Joann Martyn Golas is the director of online learning for the College of Communication at DePaul University. Golas provides strategic, tactical and operational direction for online learning within the college. She also works with faculty to effectively and innovatively use technology in teaching online, hybrid and web-enhanced courses.
Prior to DePaul, Golas worked at Carleton College, Northwestern University and the University of St. Thomas. She earned her M.A. from University College Dublin, in Dublin, Ireland, and her B.A. from the University of St. Thomas, in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Joann had a 28-week preemie son, Theo, who is now a thriving 4 ½ year old as well as a full-term son, Graham, who is almost 2. With Theo, she spent 2 ½ months at Comer Children's Hospital.
Kari is the director of Marketing and Public Relations for Kankakee Community College. She is a graduate of Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School and received BS and MBA degrees from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. In addition to serving on the board for Mattea’s Joy, Kari serves on the board of directors for the Helen Wheeler Center for Community Mental Health, an organization that provides outpatient and home-based psychiatric services for children, adolescents and adults. She also serves as vice chairman of the Community Foundation of Kankakee River Valley. Kari lives in Bourbonnais.
